Three years have separated diehard fans of the City Girls (affectionately called #Citizens) from the ladies’ last album, the ill-fated ‘City on Lock,’ but patience is being rewarded with the confirmation the duo’s next project is slated for release next week.
Despite spending most of the last three years pursusing solo endeavors, the Girls have still managed to keep their fans fed with what were once believed to be standalone singles (see: ‘Twerkulator,’ ‘I Need a Thug,’ ‘Pinata,’ the Usher-assisted ‘Good Love‘).
With each release only building anticipation for the ‘City on Lock’ follow-up, JT & Yung Miami finally answered the years of calls for official news about the project’s successor after rocking the 2023 BET Hip-Hop Awards with a jaw-dropping performance of their latest cut ‘Face Down.’
During an interview with reality star/special BET correspondent Yandy Smith (seen above), the Girls spoke candidly about their new album – titled ‘RAW‘ (an acronym for ‘Real A** Wh*res) – and revealed the LP will hit digital shelves on October 20.
“[Expect] real raw s**t,” JT vowed in a separate interview while Miami promised listeners will them at their most “authentic, like just raw.”
The project will be their latest released on the Quality Control Music label.
