Jussie Smollett has reportedly checked himself into an outpatient rehab treatment program after an “extremely difficult past few years,” his rep says.
News of the rehab entry broke Wednesday (October 18).
“It’s something he’s been wanting to do for years,” a source close to the embattled singer-actor told the press before adding “just wrapped a movie” and felt “it was time.”
Smollett’s rehab stint comes amid an ongoing appeal in his Chicago criminal case where he was found guilty of lying to police authorities after claiming two masked Trump supporters attacked him while calling him racial and homophobic slurs in early 2019.
At the time of this report it has not been specified what Jussie is going to rehab to treat.

Too little, too late. He should’ve entered rehab years ago, admitted to lying, and blamed it on some sort of substance abuse or psychological stress and he probably would’ve been able to salvage his career. Now he’s a pariah in the industry and has no public support. He’s finished.
