In breaking news, Jussie Smollett has been found guilty by a Cook County jury on five counts of making false police reports.
The charges were leveled against the ‘Empire’ star in the wake of a hate attack he claimed to have experienced on January 29, 2019.

A jury of six men and six women deliberated for more than nine hours from December 8 through to today (December 9) before coming to their decision.
Today’s verdict brings to an end the criminal component of the case, which heard from brothers Abel and Bola Osundairo. As widely reported, the pair admitted to staging the “racist and homophobic” attack with the star and carrying out the choreographed “incident.”
For what it’s worth, Smollett has long maintained his innocence and took to the stand in his own defense.
The 39-year-old now awaits sentencing and faces up to three years in prison.
