As evidenced by the November 17 drop of her latest single, ‘Get Close,’ fans are closer than ever to Ari Lennox‘s highly anticipated third album (the follow-up to 2022’s ‘Age/Sex/Location‘).
But before they can find out when the project will be located on digital streaming services, the GRAMMY-nominated songstress is already creating a lofty musical wishlist for its successor.
Details inside.
Lennox, hot on the promo trail for the delivery of ‘Close,’ took to Angela Yee‘s ‘Way Up’ podcast to dish on everything from romance to mental health, touring with Rod Wave, and so much more.
When quizzed about her dream collaborators, Ari said Brandy tops the list.
“It was so amazing; flawless,” she said about the R&B icon’s “incredible” holiday album ‘Christmas with Brandy‘ before expressing her desire to collaborate. “I would love to make music with [her] and I would love to make my own Christmas album.”
B-Rocka isn’t the only prized R&B singer-songwriter in the ‘Pressure‘ performer’s sights, however.
“It would be Tweet,” she said in response to Yee’s question about who she would do a joint album with. “She’s everything.”
When not praising the ‘Oops Oh My’ hitmaker’s critically acclaimed solo debut, 2002’s ‘Southern Hummingbird,’ Ari turned the focus onto her own work (due in the coming months).
“We have five strong songs, [but] I need ten more strong songs,” she said about the forthcoming LP. “Then, I want to drop a 9-song project; I think that’s so clean.”
At the time of this interview, Ari did not disclose the specific release date of the album.
Do we have to watch the whole video to find the parts discussed in the headline? I don’t care for Angela.
