If rising Rap diva Ice Spice (born Isis Gaston) doesn’t walk away with the Best New Artist statuette at the 66th annual GRAMMYs next year, there’s somewhere she can already celebrate a comparable win: Billboard.
Details inside.
As reiterated by the recently unveiled year-end charts, Ice Spice brought the heat all 2023.
From her inaugural Hot 100 appearance, ‘Gangsta Boo,’ to top 10 smashes ‘Karma‘ (with Taylor Swift), ‘Boy’s a Liar Pt. 2‘ (with PinkPantheress), and ‘Princess Diana‘ and ‘Barbie World‘ (with Nicki Minaj), Spice has been seasoning the all-genre chart all year-long with hits – more than any of her female newcomer contemporaries.
For the positions and longevity those tunes (and others from her Billboard 200 top 20-charting ‘Like..?’ EP) reached, Billboard crowned the Rap princess the year’s top new female artist.
Among all new acts, she ranks fourth behind Zach Bryan, Peso Pluma, and Bailey Zimmerman.
