Having found favor with butter-smooth ballads such as ‘Sweet Lady’ on his debut effort, the singer’s second swing of the bat saw him looking to showcase his versatility. Not just sonically, but visually too.
Because beyond turning up the BPM with this club jam, Tyrese embraced choreography with the MTV-era dance break featured in the Dave Meyers-directed music video.
Peaking at #48 on the Billboard Hot 100, ‘I Like Them Girls’ found its most notable success in the R&B sphere. For, the release hit #15 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs tally and an even more impressive #7 on the Billboard Rhythmic count.

Back when MTV still played music videos, Making the Video, and all the celebrity spring break shows with great performances. That’s what this reminds me of. Great times.
Sounds more like a Darkchild song than an Underdogs one. I had this album on CD, haven’t listened to it in two decades. Time sure flies.
