Fantasia embraces the ‘Superpower’ embedded within self on her stirring new release.
The uplifting anthem, which was written by The-Dream, serves as the end-credits song on the soundtrack for ‘The Color Purple’ – which the American Idol alum leads in the role of Celie.
Shortlisted for Oscar consideration, Fantasia said of the track:
“Not only is this a song that is so meaningful to the story of The Color Purple, it’s also a song that speaks to my personal life experience. Celie is a character I hold close to my heart as I understand her profoundly. What an honor to have The-Dream write her song – our song – and I hope it moves you in the way it immensely moved me.”
Powered by cutting-edge technology, the unique visual came to fruition by way of Metaphysic, the industry-leading generative AI company.
In the clip, Fantasia is captured singing to and with her 19-year-old self, who rocks the red dress she wore during the finale of Idol.

I love her. Great song! She’s such a great singer! And the video is nice
I think they should have used a computer generated version of a younger Fantasia to allow her to interact with her younger self. Since they don’t look much alike, it’s
not obvious enough that the other person in the video is supposed to be a younger version Fantasia.
Fantasia did that phenomenal
Male sure yall stream this song on repeat its important
Shut up
