Usher‘s electrifying halftime show at the 2024 Super Bowl may have boasted a who’s who of guests including GRAMMY winners H.E.R., Will.i.am, Ludacris, Lil Jon, and more, but the standout definitely came when he called on Alicia Keys to share the Allegiant Stadium stage to perform their #1 hit ‘My Boo.’

Easily one of the showing’s most talked about segments, eyes lit up when Keys graced the stage in a red-hot, form-fitting ensemble to belt her own smash ‘If I Aint Got U‘ before launching into ‘Boo.’
Yet, some faces turned sour after seeing the two’s less-than-family-friendly interactions and after hearing the celebrated songstress hit a few bum notes during the live show – some of which were edited out once the final video hit the Web (much to the criticism of the NFL).
In a behind-the-scenes video lifted to her official YouTube handle on Monday (February 26), Alicia – as she prepared for the big game – addressed the potential of a vocal malfunction.
“Will it mess up my voice, will it make me kind of waver,” she asked as she considered the impact the custom-made Dolce & Gabbana cape could have to her performance. “So much comes from your core and your stomach when you’re singing…”
Despite the voice hiccup, Keys went on to deliver a stunning show alongside Usher – easily creating one of the spectacle’s most memorable moments of the last few years.

Sounded like it happened at the vocal cord level. She’s human, and her and mic is always on. I’ve noticed when she performs live, it’s like she tries to belt every note, yelling and it doesn’t always have to be like that. She can scale it back.

Ok why is she going on this media tirade defending herself? why is everyone making a big deal? Its a barely noticeable voice crack. All of our faves have had this happen at some point. Give it a rest.
That one little moment was jarring, but it was only a moment not even worth all the attention.
Shes been cracking her whole career. Beyonce wears capes and heavy costumes all the time and she would never.
What this is, is inadequate technique and inadequate warm up and prep.
