Megan Thee Stallion continues to blaze a trail like no other.
Because the Hot Girl Coach has inked a seismic one-of-a-kind deal with Warner Music Group; one that will see her retain ownership of her artistry in a major way.
Riding high on the success of her viral smash ‘Hiss,’ the femcee has signed a distribution deal with Warner Music.
Many will recall that Megan has been a free agent since October 2023 after finally being legally liberated from the controversial contract she was in with 1501 Entertainment.
Per the terms of the new pact with Warner, the rapper will retain ownership of her masters and publishing while releasing material via her own imprint Hot Girl Productions, and receiving label distribution services from the industry juggernaut.
And while the star previously worked with Warner (by way of 300 Entertainment) for distribution during her 1501 tenure, industry analysts in unison say the new terms are unprecedented.
Recent releases ‘Cobra’ and ‘Hiss’ arrived as part of the deal.
Toasting the news, Megan said:
“Thank you GOD 🙏🏽 Hotties today HISSTORY was made !!! Today I signed a distribution deal with my new family Warner Music where I maintain my INDEPENDENCE as an artist and OWN MY MASTERS AND PUBLISHING. This is thee first deal of its kind!!! I hope artists still on the come up or even artists who are already established never get discouraged by all the obstacles that come with this industry! Even with all the odds against me I fought for MYSELF, the hotties fought for me and Roc Nation fought for me!!! I’m forever grateful!!! Let’s REALLY KEEP RUNNING IT UP HOTTIES! Shout out to MAMA HOLLY I know she’s guiding me through all this 💙 #HOTGIRLPRODUCTIONS.”
WMG Recorded Music CEO Max Lousada (photographed above with Megan and her team) said in a statement:
“Meg is not just a superstar. She’s an artistic force and a mogul in the making – authentic and unapologetic in defining her own unique place in the cultural landscape. So many relate to her remarkable story and have witnessed her come into her power on her own terms. At Warner, we’re creating an environment where original talents can explore both their creativity and entrepreneurialism, while building long-term careers.”

Sis.. Flop…
Warner is so 80s.
😂😂😂😂
Been a leader before and since the 80s. Their catalog selling prices are only rivaled by Sony’s. And it’s NOT a record deal; just music distribution duh. Does Onika have her fans’ reading miscomprehension skills? #hotbutnotahottie
goodluck warner doesnt do shite for promos and will do them so poorly… eg dua lipa & madonna
ANY label WILL take care of distribution in different, national AND international markets, properly. Such “deals” ensure just that—distribution. Less pressure on the artist.
she will be taking Warner Music to court next since she like burning bridges after she get what she want.
And nicki still gonna be broke lmaooooooo
Girl, finally somebody else who sees.
Tis her year. . .if she don’t get 🔫’d. Hey, Meg—you’re nekkid in every vid; you had part 1 of the deal already fulfilled before you even went to Warner’s! 😁 I tease, I tease. Congrats on revolutionizing the ‘zik biz; here’s hoping this venture will be known as Megan’s Law. 😉
I don’t like Meghan at all, but she looks good here, and congratulations to her for signing with a big company. My question, though, is what does Warner Brothers get if she owns her masters and maintains independence? What is the reason for signing?
Under a distribution deal, Warner Bros. gets rights to distribute, promote, collect royalties, and generate revenue from Megan’s music. Megan grants Warner a percentage of the royalties as payment for getting her music on physical retail, digital retail, and streaming platforms. This allows Megan to retain more control over her music rights than traditional record deals.
Unless her deal is based on a prepaid model, whereby Warner charges her a fixed fee periodically for their service without taking any share from her royalty (so she keeps 100% of the distribution royalty.)
In a nutshell, neither needs the other. It boils down to both parties wanting prestige/bragging rights. 😉
Hope this helped.
Good. Work hot girl this is just the mix you have not even thought about opening up. You are all you got in the end message ❤️ you Becarful.
