Barely a month after learning she had zoomed past the top 20 record of King of Rock N’ Roll Elvis Presley has Rap Queen Nicki Minaj found out she’s extended another history-making feat in the Hot 100.
Nicki’s latest release ‘Big Foot,‘ her recorded clap back to Megan Thee Stallion‘s ‘Hiss‘ diss track, was released on January 29 and – despite a shortened sales tracking week – still opened at #23 on the most recent edition of the Hot 100.
Here are the numbers that powered the placement.
- Streaming ≈ 11 million U.S.-based streams
- Radio Airplay ≈ 600,000 audience impressions
- Sales ≈ 37,000 digital downloads
The figures above gave ‘Foot’ just the footing needed to be last week’s second best-selling female song (behind Stallion).
As if that’s not enough to boast, the #23 debut marked a milestone as it made her the first female artist of color to boast ownership of 75 top 40 hits.
Among all acts, she leaves the related records of Kanye West, Elton John, Eminem, and Rihanna even further in her rear view.
In fact, the only artists in the Hot 100’s 65-year history to have more top 40 hits are her Young Money cohort Drake, Taylor Swift, Lil Wayne, and Elvis.
