Usher is ready for the Super Bowl Halftime Show 2024.
Billed as a performance “30 years in the making,” this year’s headliner promises to deliver a show like no other.
And he’ll be doing so with renewed purpose.
For, during the Apple Music Press Conference promoting the seismic spectacle, he reflected on the significance of him rocking Halftime at this stage of his career. He also ruminated on his first time on the platform, as a guest of the Black Eyed Eyed Peas in 2011.

Speaking with Nadeska Alexis, Usher said of the history he’s making:
“This is only the beginning because I launched this album as an independent artist. I will be, up until this date, the only independent artist who’s ever performed the Super Bowl Halftime show. So this is a beginning. This is a new beginning for me.”
Elsewhere, the 45-year-old ruminated on an unseen “malfunction” glitch when he performed with the ‘Peas. Revealing that his hand became stuck in the harness that secured him while descending from the skies, he joked:
“I was like, ‘Oh my god. Don’t let this malfunction cause me to miss something.”
