Usher‘s highly anticipated headlining gig of the 2024 Super Bowl Halftime Show on Sunday (February 11) helped the big game run into record books as the most-watched television program in history.
Among the eyes glued to the electrifying showing were the good folks at ‘Rolling Stone’ who were clearly pleased with what they saw.
So much so, they have already updated their ‘greatest Super Bowl Halftime Shows’ list to include the R&B crooner in its higher rankings.
Details inside.
Armed with high octane choreography and a brigade of dancers, the ‘Yeah‘ hitmaker A-Town stomped all up and through the Las Vegas Allegiant Stadium to a megamix of his greatest hits including ‘U Got It Bad,’ ‘My Boo,’ ‘Caught Up,’ ‘Nice & Slow,’ and more.
Scoring a critical touchdown with his dedicated fans, the 45-year-old also had a slew of celebrities like Chris Brown, Jill Scott, Serena Williams, Anita Baker, and others singing his praises.
Among the latest to make headlines for cheering on the R&B crooner is ‘Rolling Stone,’ which ranked his set as the fourth greatest male-led halftime show in history. Per their list, only Michael Jackson, Paul McCartney, and Prince‘s respective headlining gigs were better.
In fitting company given that Ush said his show would be a nod to their respective legacies. Speaking on the 8x GRAMMY winner, the mag said:
“[He] didn’t go for big thrills or surprises in his set—just the Atlanta love man luxuriating in his comfort zone with glitzy confidence. Usher did a millennial- friendly set of 2000s R&B love-in-the-club oldies, with old friends like Alicia Keys, Ludacris, and Jermaine Dupri,” they relayed.

how is mj 14?
Rihanna wins greatest spectacle ever with those floating platforms. I don’t think we’ll ever see anything like it again.
Cool. A floating platform with a cow who doesn’t move singing flat over thousands of people.
that was the most laziest halftime show I ever seen. why not use birth control before the performance. so unprofessional.
When will they finally honor the queen Mariah Carey? They need to giver her damn flowers to her because she deserves it! She got all the hits!!! And don’t forget that most of them are #1 and written by her! Lover her lol.
Rolling stone is a woke propaganda pos publication that isn’t worth much more than toilet paper these days.
Usher should be higher than this. MJ is 14 because he ruined an incredible performance with a creepy children’s anthem that went way too long. He should’ve shelved the children’s anthem because all it did was make him look creepy and continued with other hits.
s h i t ty stone don’t know what they doing. Poor taste! How come Pregnant Rihanna is better than Madonna, GaGa and Katy Perry. That lazy ho was barely moving on the stage. meanwhile the other 3 dance their ass off.
No Nicki 🫣
I stopped paying Rolling Stone any mind when they declared Lady Gaga the new Queen of Pop lol.
Michael Jackson
Prince
Usher
Beyonce
There are two types of half time shows: BEFORE MJ and AFTER MJ.
Rolling stone is out of their mind for putting him at 14. The disrespect continues even in his death.
