Coco Jones has been hitting the promo trail something fierce over the last few weeks in preparation for her inaugural GRAMMYs run.
Nominated for five awards including Best New Artist at Sunday’s show (February 4) , the 26-year-old was one of the most anticipated visitors of the red carpet for Spotify’s 2024 Best New Artist Party on Thursday (February 1).
Catching up with Billboard, Jones chatted it up about everything from the state of R&B to her debut album, working with fellow GRAMMY nominee Victoria Monet, and so much more.

COCO JONES ON NEW MUSIC:
“I’m working on my album and the goal is for a summer a release,” she told resident Billboard interviewer Tetris Kelly.
COCO JONES ON THE CURRENT R&B MOVEMENT:
“I’m really honored to be one of the women [besides SZA and Victoria Monet] that is pioneering R&B. I think it’s a different time and so to modernize R&B and make it feel limitless is a real skill,” Coco relayed.
COCO JONES ON COLLABORATING WITH VICTORIA MONET:
“I love her; what’s funny is we already lowkey collaborated because she wrote on my debut EP when I was a teen – I was literally 14,” she shared before suggesting she agrees that it’s time for them to reunite.
The reunion sentiment is one Monet later echoed.
“I love her so much,” Victoria started. “We’ve discussed [collaborating] – our teams have discussed it but I know both of our schedules right now are all over the place. So, one day after this we will align and I want the perfect time and we’ll have the perfect song and do something amazing together.”
I hope Victoria doesn’t turn CoCo out.
