Billboard: Halle Bailey’s ‘In Your Hands’ Is the Week’s Top-Selling New R&B Song

Published: Friday 29th Mar 2024 by Rashad

After soaring to critical and industry acclaim with her solo debut single, the GRAMMY-nominated ‘Angel,’ singer-actress Halle Bailey seems poised to repeat the feat with the tune’s follow-up ‘In Your Hands.’

Released March 15, the Dem Jointz-produced ballad is believed to be the latest taste of music set to line the 24-year-old’s first solo album due later this year.

Like ‘Angel’ before it, however, ‘Hands’ is proving its warm reception isn’t limited to what the critics are saying.

Peruse of Billboard’s latest R&B Digital Song Sales chart sees ‘Hands’ printed at #3 as the week’s top-selling new song of the genre.  Only Muni Long‘s ‘Made for Me’ and Tyla‘s ‘Water’ sold more over the same tracking period.

It’s the second time of her solo career Bailey’s landed in the tally’s top 5 following the #2 debut of ‘Angel‘ last summer.

As if that’s not enough to celebrate, ‘Hands’ also premiered at #14 on the week’s Hot R&B Songs charts.

Albeit a handsome opening week’s commercial performance overall (thanks to streaming and digital sales), the tune’s modest presence at radio was a leading cause of its absence from the current Hot 100.

While time will tell if that tide will change, click here to see who else had a noteworthy week on Billboard charts.

Not my cup of tea, but I respect her making music that is about something. I don’t know what is wrong with Chloe. Chloe is lost.
