Taylor Swift’s ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ Sold 1.4 Million Copies On Its First Day In The United States

Taylor Swift‘s latest album is selling with massive numbers.

Taking to press, Billboard announced that the her ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ album had sold over 1.4 million copies on its first day of release. That number accounts for traditional album sales the outlet goes on to note.

As a result, the album now has the distinction for having the biggest opening day for any Swift album ever and the biggest opening for an album so far this year.

The album was originally released as a 17-song project before being expanded to 31 songs released as a digital download and a streaming album.
