Mary J. Blige may be stepping away from the spotlight in the next couple of years.

In a new interview with Extra, Mary shared that she is thinking of taking some time away in the next couple of years.
“Right now, I’m definitely gonna do some more acting and I’m definitely gonna retire in, like, five or six years,” she said.
However, she did not specify as to what exactly retirement will look like for her.
She goes on to say that the music retirement is more of an “eventual” thing.
“Right now, I’m still doing what I’m doing but not as often as I was doing it because I don’t have to now,” she shared.
The news comes as she is gearing up to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and as she deemed her next album might be her last.
They all say that as a gimmick to hype up promotion then”suddenly” come out of retirement becaue they love music too much lol
Mary is just talking she is not wealthy at this point. She just had to start completely over lik 7 or 8 years ago. What she is saying is she has coins in the bank right now. However; Mary will always do shows she loves it. Just like Tina Turner retired like 3-4 times. I remember her Foreign Affair tour was called her retirement in 1988 and Tina was touring 20 years after that. Same thing with Cher she had so many farewell tours. Anita Baker too LOL
