Not even a year after Sexyy Red made headlines for expressing very clear support for former President Donald Trump, the controversial rapstress has ruffled feathers yet again for perceived endorsement of the polarizing politician.
As many of her dedicated fans know, Red performs her live set in front of a giant hat that reads “Make America Sexyy Again” – a play on Trump’s campaign slogan “Make America Great Again (MAGA).”
The prop recently landed her in hot water, however, after she brought it to the 2024 Roots Picnic with clips from that performance going viral.

As posts like the one above began gaining traction across social media over the weekend, Sexyy chimed in to the conversation.
Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter) on Monday (June 3), the 26-year-old made her stance on Trump plain.
“It’s Sexyy Red 4 president,” she told her 1.5 million followers on the platform. “I’m my own candidate; I’m not endorsing anybody. Period.”
The recent statement was a notable contrast from her comments on the Donald from late 2023.
“I like Trump,” she said in an interview at the time. “Yeah, they support him in the hood. At first, I don’t think people was f**king with him. They thought he was racist, saying little s**t against women. But once he started getting Black people out of jail and giving people that free money. Awe, baby, we love Trump. We need him back in office.”
She doesn’t strike me as being a registered voter. I doubt she can name the 3 branches of government, muchness understands how they operate and why Trump is a danger to the future of her kids. She’s the product of a failed education system, generational poverty, and immature parenting. She’s not astute enough to realize how they’re using her platform for their gain and will promptly discard her once they get the outcome they’re seeking: other stupid black people to follow her lead.
