Lanez is currently in the early stages of a 10-year prison sentence after being convicted of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the foot back in 2020.
In a bid to keep his musical momentum alive while away, the Canadian performer has announced the ‘Prison Tapes’ in a new address to fans.
Unpacking how he and his sound engineer settled on a means of recording material over the prison phone, the disgraced Lanez confirmed a July 26 launch for his project.
He also proclaimed “I’ll be home soon.”

He’s coming home soon, things will come to light.
He can always hope. But the rest of us already know he won’t be home anytime soon. It’s really sad to see his life go down the drain like this. He should take this time to be more introspective and address the voids in his life that led him here. So that when he finally does get out, he can stay out.
