Beyonce continues to make boss moves. And this time it’s in partnership with Moët Hennessy.

For, Queen Bey is making a splash in the beverage space with the launch of her own whisky line, SirDavis.

Full story below…

Available from September 4, Beyonce’s birthday, the line is named after her paternal great-grandfather, Davis Hogue, who had been a successful moonshiner in the American South during Prohibition.

Speaking on the venture, the megastar said:

“”I’ve always been drawn to the power and confidence I feel when drinking quality whisky and wanted to invite more people to experience that feeling. When I discovered that my great-grandfather had been a moonshine man, it felt like my love for whisky was fated. SirDavis is a way for me to pay homage to him, uniting us through a new shared legacy. In partnering with Moët Hennessy, we have crafted a delicious American whisky that respects tradition but also empowers people to experience something new and unique in the category. You can taste it better than I could ever tell you — welcome, SirDavis.”.

Already award-winning, after a number of blind-taste tests, Beyonce teamed with Dr. Bill Lumsden –  one of the world’s most awarded and highly regarded Master Distillers – to hone SirDavis.

He added in a statement:

“I think together we’ve risen to something that I’m hugely excited about. And I think whisky drinkers are going to be blown away because it’s really quite different from anything I’ve tasted before.”

Bernard Arnault, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of LVMH also added:

“SirDavis is not only a revelatory and exceptional American Whisky, which we are very proud of. It is also a testament of the unwavering dedication to craftsmanship, heritage and innovation shared by LVMH and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter.”

Four generations from when Davis Hogue made whisky on his land and invited friends and family to enjoy, his legacy is honored. Read Beyonce’s open letter to him, in which she says:

“For you, I raise my glass to legacy. We ride the moment. We savor the moment.”

SirDavis retails for $89 and is available for pre-order via SirDavis.com. Product will be available at retail across the U.S. as well as in select airports (LAX/JFK/SFO) and stores in LondonParis, and Tokyo in September 2024.

My thoughts are “why?”. Cecred, Ivy Park, tons of album related merch, a super successful concert tour, the perfume…why this, why now?

It just seems greedy and she sells everything the same way – suggestive photos. Yawn.

And drinkers for this whiskey are flocking to Uncle Nearest – are they not?

It doesn’t ring true to her – maybe it is since I don’t know her.

So instead of launching a program to bring voter awareness to the black community during an important election, she chooses to….sell booze. Got it. This y’all Queen. 🤣🤦🏿‍♂️

    • Hmm August 21, 2024

Why would anyone expect her to launch such a program? She’s an entertainer, not a politician or social service entity.

Keeping her fans under hypnosis, drunk, high and away from reality.
