Maxwell brought his legendary brand of butter-smooth R&B to NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series today (August 23).
Backed by a full band, the veteran showed up and showed out with a soul-infused set comprised of some of his biggest hits.
Taking place ahead of The Serenade Tour, which sets sail on September 14, the performance featured rousing renditions of ‘Pretty Wings,’ ‘Ascension,’ ‘Bad Habits,’ ‘Simply Beautiful,’ and ‘Sumthin’ Sumthin.”
Watch Maxwell wow after the jump…
OK!!
I was shocked he didn’t sing “This Woman’s Work” at a show years ago, and I haven’t seen it on a setlist since. Has he given a reason for not singing it anymore?
Why don’t Chris brown have a tiny desk? Is it because it’s raw vocals no autotune ?? 🤫
That’s a question for the industry people who idolize past abusers like Biggie and Dre with statues, museum pieces and hall of fame inductions while refusing to see Chris in a new light.
What that gotta do with Chris doing a tiny desk
