Tamar Braxton may have spent much of this week in the headlines for her unravelling personal life with Jeremy “JR” Robinson, however the songbird seized her latest spell in the spotlight to reaffix the focus on her talent.
The 47-year-old took center stage at the 2024 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards and soared with a powerful rendition of Karyn White‘s ‘Superwoman.’
Braxton’s showing was in salute of the song’s writer Babyface, who took home the evening’s top honor, the BMI Icon Award.
Watch the potent performance below…
Sharing the showing herself, Braxton wrote:
“Glad to be back in the rooms where I belong. thank you”

Solid! Now, this is how we embrace seeing Tamar. Letting her talent – and nothing else – do the talking.
We kno she gon sang but Work on your lows sweetie. Everybody can’t be Toni
That’s as low as a nearly-50 high soprano will get. No fault of hers, either! Can’t change physiology.
Yh but you can change the arrangement to match your tessitura. This sounded horrible. Those lows were muffled and pure air
Too much hollering and why do they always get everyone BUT Karyn White to sing her song when she’s alive and well
What a mess. This ho is crazy
The dutchess of R&B did THAT no b**** seeing her on the mic ever
“She should’ve said ” Glad to be back in the mental hospital where I belong. thank you”
Tamar’s talent has never been in question! In the Braxton family her voice is only 2nd to Toni Braxton! After this performance she is back where she belongs, at the top of conversations! Her new album may make her surpass Toni if she is Smart! The first single duet with what’s his name…uh Hallie Berry’s ex is a block buster of vocal talent! I can’t wait for the album! Tamartians saddle up! We in for a wild ride! Girl forget that white man… move on you way to good for that J.R.Bullcrap! Concentrate on your career and family and Son. Soar Tamar soar!
