The ongoing streaming success of Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars‘ hit ‘Die with a Smile‘ is nothing short of unprecedented.
Already the first song of the year to spend over 50 days atop the global Spotify chart, this week saw the D’Mile-produced ballad claim the title of “fastest song to hit 1 billion streams” in the platform’s history.
Released on August 16, ‘Smile’ sped to the milestone in less than 100 days – a feat acknowledged by the streamer itself on Wednesday (November 20).

Gaga now has seven songs to boast inclusion in the “billions club” while Mars has a whopping 16.
The historic news comes just days ahead of the print of the updated Billboard Hot 100 which could finally see ‘Smile’ – after weeks of riding in the #2 spot – unseat the chart’s longtime champion Shaboozey and his enduring hit ‘A Bar Song.’
