Billboard 200: J. Cole’s ‘The Off-Season’ Debuts At #1

Published: Sunday 23rd May 2021 by Sam

J. Cole reigns once again on the Billboard 200. And this time it’s with his new album ‘The-Off Season.’

Full story, including the final numbers, below…

The Rap titan lives up to his billing on this week’s tally. Because he premiered at #1 with the hotly anticipated LP.

Cole’s feat was powered by combined U.S sales and streams amounting to 282,000 units

Streaming was a key driver because – from that sum – 243,000 was accrued via streams.

The album – which was supported by a like-titled documentary – earns the MC the second biggest launch of the year and is only bested by Taylor Swift’s ‘Fearless’ (which opened with 291,000).

‘The Off-Season’ earns the honor of delivering the largest Hip-Hop sales debut of the year and also the largest streaming opening of the year too.

Congrats.
