Lady Gaga was given TWO good reasons to smile this week thanks to the ongoing success of her Bruno Mars-assisted smash ‘Die with a Smile‘ and the warm reception of her latest single ‘Disease.’
Thanks to a $.69 discount on iTunes as well as the release of three different variations (live version, instrumental version, etc.), the updated Hot 100 revealed ‘Smile’ reached a new peak (#2) thanks to being the week’s top-selling song.
Here are the numbers that powered the placement.
- Streaming ≈ 22.6 million U.S.-based streams
- Sales ≈ 16,000 digital downloads
- Radio Airplay ≈ 45.3 million audience impressions
The #2 position marks the highest Gaga’s reached since she topped the tally with the Ariana Grande-assisted ‘Rain on Me‘ in 2020.
This news came just days before the duo learned the tune was nominated for a 2025 GRAMMY.
As if the ‘Smile’ win wasn’t enough to grin about, the Pop diva’s infectious solo single – the October 25-released ‘Disease‘ – debuted at #27, making it the week’s highest-charting new female-led song.
Here are the numbers that powered the placement.
- Streaming ≈ 11.5 million U.S.-based streams
- Sales ≈ 11,000 digital downloads
- Radio Airplay ≈ 15.5 million audience impressions
The 27th top 40 hit of her career, the pure sales attached to ‘Disease’ come as the week’s second highest – trailing only behind her own ‘Smile.’
In fact, the combined sales performances of Gaga’s hits this week (27,000 units) outpaced that of the other 9 songs in the Hot 100’s top 10 all together (23,000 units).
As her beloved fans – affectionately called #LittleMonsters – continue trumpeting the GRAMMY and OSCAR-winning star’s latest Billboard victories, look below to see who joins her on the updated, Shaboozey-led TGJ Chart Check: Hot 100 edition.

That disease song makes me feel weird. No thank you, Lady Satanica. I do like the one with Bruno.
