Shaboozey has set a new bar at Billboard thanks to his enduring hit ‘A Bar Song.’
By collecting a historic 15-week run atop the Hot 100 with ‘Bar,’ Shaboozey (born Collins Obinna Chibueze) became the first artist of color to enjoy that long of a solo reign in the all-genre chart’s 66-year history – breaking a 14-week record previously shared by iconic divas Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey via their respective hits, ‘I Will Always Love You’ and ‘We Belong Together.’
Despite surrendering the chart’s championship position last week to fellow Country superstar Morgan Wallen, Collins bounced back to retrieve the spot this week.
Here are the numbers that powered the placement.
- Streaming ≈ 22.1 million U.S.-based streams
- Sales ≈ 5,000 digital downloads
- Radio Airplay ≈ 72.6 million audience impressions
With his 16th week at #1, Shaboozey now ties the all-time record (held by Wallen) for longest-reigning Hot 100 chart-topper among solo male acts.
