Khalid found his personal life thrust into the headlines when an ex named Hugo D Almonte took to the public domain to out the ‘Love Lies’ singer as gay.
A swift backlash followed, with many of the star’s fans (and social media at large) blasting the adult model for his shocking actions.
Khalid, himself, condemned the unjust behavior and unpacked how perplexed he was by it as he and Almonte dated “four years ago.”
At the time of his now infamous tweet, Almonte cited supposed claims that he was being accused of breaking into Khalid’s home as some sort of justification.
