This week the iconic Apollo Theater in New York City was buzzing with Black excellence as the 2024 Root 100 Gala honored this year’s most influential Black Americans.

Hosted by comedian and entertainer Roy Wood Jr., the evening celebrated culture, talent, and impact. Guests were treated to powerhouse performances from Grammy-nominated songstress Andra Day and the incomparable Ledisi, setting the tone for a night of inspiration and celebration.
This year’s honorees included an impressive array of luminaries such as Don Lemon, Tamron Hall, Wendell Pierce, Laura Coates, Aldis Hodge, and Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, all celebrated for their contributions to their respective fields.
Adding to the star power were special guests like Mona Scott-Young, Jawn Murray, Flex Anderson, Noma Dumezweni, Edwin Hodge, and Skye P. Marshall, who came out to support and uplift the honorees.
The Root 100 Gala continues to shine as one of the most anticipated events spotlighting Black achievement. With such an unforgettable lineup of talent and recognition, this year’s celebration raised the bar even higher.
