Tank has taken aim at claims there is a “gay agenda” targeting Black men.
The singer, who has long been outspoken about equal rights, spoke up and out in support of the LGBTQ community and condemned the suggestion that homosexuality is being promoted.

Addressing the matter, the 48-year-old said:
Video In-Article Ad (Desktop)“There is something about Black men and the homosexual conversation that is a mess. The phobia, as it relates to Black men, is the elephant in the room. For a Black man (somehow) the worst thing is to be called gay. The first thing someone is going to allude to when trying to assassinate your character….they going (to call you) ‘gay’ first.”

Continuing, the singer added:
Video In-Article Ad (Desktop)“It stems from something within our culture that has created this stigma…that somehow there is a program to make Black men gay. You see it everywhere. (As if) there’s an attack on strong Black men. But who is the attack coming from?”

Responding to the host’s suggestion that homosexuality is omnipresent and is somehow even “trendy” today, Tank pushed back with:
Video In-Article Ad (Desktop)“The world has gotten smaller. And so now we know that more humans exist. And we’re actually able to see those humans living out their lives. We weren’t able to see that before. I didn’t know what was going on outside of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.”
