20 weeks after first storming the Hot 100 with their smash duet ‘Die With A Smile,’ music megastars Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga have finally ascended to the tally’s summit.
As Billboard bids adieu to the annual Christmas rush of tunes, ‘Smile’ – as previously predicted – has given its performers a reason to do just that as they’ve risen to the top of the refreshed Hot 100.
Previously held at bay from the position due to the gargantuan success of Shaboozey‘s ‘A Bar Song,’ here are the numbers that finally powered the duet to the Pop peak.
- Streaming = 27.1 million U.S.-based streams
- Sales = 6000 digital downloads
- Radio = 59.7 million audience impressions
For Gaga, the reign comes as the 6th of her career and first since she made a splash with the Ariana Grande-assisted ‘Rain on Me‘ in 2020.
For Bruno, on the other hand, the accomplishment is a historic one. Coming as the 9th of his career, he’s now broken a three-way tie with Justin Bieber and Usher for most #1 hits this century among male vocalists.
On the all-time list, Bruno enters a three-way tie with the latter.
