Janet Jackson is renowned for blazing the stage with her iconic dance moves.
But, here at That Grape Juice, we’ve long appreciated her vocal prowess too.
Currently wowing audiences at her Las Vegas residency at Resorts World, the legend is pairing a stellar spectacle with a spotlight on her voice.
Case in point her powerful performance of ‘I Get Lonely’ from 1997’s ‘The Velvet Rope.’
Recreating her stripped-back showing of the track from an appearance on the Rosie O’Donnell Show, Ms. Jackson showed up and showed out with a compelling rendition.

Sing queen. Her iconic voice is so pleasant to listen to and emotes so much more than some of the screamers. You can tell she’s having so much fun

Janet is ageless and it was as if it was 1998.
She is one the best pop stars really talented and amazing performer. We are lucky we still experience her legacy and presence In pop world. Wish she will bring some new music
We love an organic queen! ✨️ 👑
Love Janet. A real performer who’s all about the music instead of modeling and serving for the camera.
Ooop.
Nicki could NEVER
My baby Janet always comes through. Her voice is always so soothing to the ear. She proves again that just because a person screams and does all the runs and riffs does not justify them as being a good singer. I was in concert choir and glee club and I learned back then that every vocal section serves a purpose in creating a song. Tenors, baratone, Alto and Soprano…and Janet has done all of those parts in various song when sheclayers her background vocals. Her range is not as minimal as people suggest, she stays in her range of comforter in some instances and in others she can come full throttle like in her song black cat. Janet also has sang various genres so she is very flexible vocally. One thing about Lady J. She is not going to be bothered by what she can and cannot do. She is the only Unproblematic entertainer alive. And I love how she stripped down this song. She will always be the blueprint, icon and legend forever
