Much like Justin Timberlake, Usher, and Kendrick Lamar before her, Mary J. Blige‘s inaugural Super Bowl Halftime Show performance came as an ensemble.
In Mary’s case, a history-making Hip-Hop collective that included Lamar, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, and Eminem that became the first halftime show to ever win an EMMY.
With Kendrick suiting up to tackle the headlining gig by his lonesome on February 9, however, MJB has revealed she too is eyeing a chance to shine on the NFL stage solo.

Hot on the promo trail for her new Lifetime movie venture ‘Family Affair,’ Blige dropped by the January 15 episode of the ‘Drew Barrymore Show‘ to dish on the inspiration behind the film, her forthcoming ‘For My Fans Tour,’ and so much more.
During the rapid-fire questions segment, the Hip Hop Soul Queen addressed two milestone career moments – a biopic (which she confirmed is not in the works) and performing at the Super Bowl again after rocking the house in 2022.
“If I had to pick an artist who hasn’t performed at the Super Bowl…it would be me,” she said after Barrymore quizzed her on who she would like to see play the biggest spectacle on Earth.
