Just weeks before 2024’s end, Megan Thee Stallion made headlines for filing a restraining order against Tory Lanez to stop the imprisoned rapper (born Daystar Peterson) from using “surrogates” (aka third parties) to harass her in person and online.
On Thursday (January 9), it was revealed her request was granted.
Stallion (born Megan Pete) filed the petition after claiming Peterson had been harassing her from behind bars – an arrest and conviction that stems from an incident where he reportedly shot her in the feet in July 2020.
Judge Richard Bloom confirmed the petition on Thursday, saying that Pete had “sustained burden of proof” to grant the motion.
“I feel like maybe he’ll shoot me again, and maybe this time I won’t make it,” Megan reportedly said via video call to a Los Angeles courtroom Thursday afternoon during an emotional testimony.
While Tory is serving a 10-year sentence for his connection to the shooting, the restraining order expires January 9, 2030.
