As reported, the EMMY, GRAMMY, and Golden Globe-nominated singer-actress (whose father is Mexican) took to social media to express her outrage over the Trump-initiated mass deportation of undocumented immigrants from America carried out by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in raids across the country.
“I just want to say that I’m so sorry. All my people are getting attacked. The children. I don’t understand,” the 32-year-old said in the now-deleted clip. “I’m so sorry, I wish I could do something, but I can’t. I don’t know what to do. I’ll try everything, I promise.”
The tearful statement evoked the opposite of Gomez’s expected response as Trump supporters and other critics flooded her social media pages with disparaging remarks, prompting her to remove the video. Selena Gomez Sam Parker
“Apparently it’s not okay to show empathy for people,” she said after deleting the clip.
Among the detractors making headlines for his response to Selena’s post was Utah-based Senate candidate Sam Parker who even landed on the radar of her fans (affectionately called #Selenators) for his commentary.
“Deport Selena Gomez,” he said on X (formerly known as Twitter), sending them swarming to his Instagram page.
After #Selenators flooded his social media handles with comments defending their fave, the hoopla prompted Parker to go to Instagram to further his attack on the singer-actress and her fans.
“I didn’t have ‘wage war against a bunch of r*tarded Selena Gomez fans’ on my bingo card today, but here we are,” he told his 1,540 followers on the platform. “I’m drinking their tears, now.”
Once the news hit the desk of Selena, the ‘Kill Em with Kindness’ singer lived up to her 2016 hit.
“Oh Mr. Parker, Mr. Parker. Thanks for the laugh and the threat,” she shared on her Instagram Stories.

Salena’s perception is skewed because she doesn’t live in the neighborhoods where illegal immigrants just show up, drain resources and unapologetically bring their bad habits and 3rd world ways of life with no regard or respect for US citizens. The crisis is out of control. Mass deportation is a necessary evil right now. It’s unfortunate that many hard working decent people will get caught up, but order must be restored.
