SZA Vows to STOP Teasing New Music Because of “Ungrateful & Disrespectful” Fans: “No More Explanations & Updates”

Published: Friday 17th Jan 2025 by Rashad

Snooze‘ singer SZA is pressing the snooze button on teasing new music despite recently promising fans they would see an expansion to ‘LANA‘ – the deluxe edition of her history-making sophomore albumSOS.’

SZA (born Solana Rowe) is no stranger to expressing her ongoing battle with the ups and downs of fame, and part of that has been the constant challenge of setting boundaries with the press and fans alike. The latter particularly as they hounded the GRAMMY winner with updates after she announced her blockbuster ‘SOS’ album would be given a lifeline via a deluxe edition (‘LANA’).

Even after the project hit digital shelves on December 20, Rowe was slammed by fans for not keeping her word of delivering even more new music before December 31.

Later vowing ‘new mixes‘ and a ‘LANA’ expansion would be on the horizon as well, impatient followers took to social media to lambast the beauty when those efforts did not arrive as scheduled.

Tired of the hoopla, Solana took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to put “restore a boundary” between herself and overzealous fans.

“No more explanations [or] updates,” she revealed on Thursday (January 16) before elaborating, “I used to think sharing snippets, personal info and music tea would build connection, but it actually just made people entitled, ungrateful, and disrespectful. It’s time to restore the boundary.”

Telling those with inquiries to “hit Punch” (her manager), the direction suggests the two have mended fences after it was reported their professional relationship ended right before the end of 2024.

Fans who still need a new SZA project fix, however, can head to theaters on Friday (January 17) to catch her feature film debut in the Issa Rae-produced ‘One of Them Days.’

Beezy has one of the best fans who are highly supportive.

Why stan an artist and drag them at the same time? I don’t blame SZA.

I don’t understand how celebrities with millions of fans allow a few negative comments to rattle them and influence their behavior. Understanding that everyone will not like you and being ok with that is the key to sanity and longevity.

Because most are insecure messes to begin with. Add label and social media mind-, heart-, and body-altering demands; and all they focus on is the begging.

I’m like her. Can’t handle fame. But I’d be more graceful about increasing interest/demand. With her speech-level singing, I’d record 8 songs a day. Bey finished BDay in a week. Just sayin’
