Azealia Banks and Khia may have locked horns in the past, but – as evidenced by a recent social media exchange with some Lady Gaga fans (affectionately called #LittleMonsters) – the ‘ATM Jam‘ hitmaker doesn’t mind dispensing credit where it’s due.
Taking a break from turning heads during Milan Fashion Week 2025, Banks took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to engage in a debate about Gaga‘s influence on fashion by pointing out how much more influential Black stars like Beyonce and Lil Kim are.
“Beyonce is exponentially more fashionably impactful than Gaga,” the rapstress relayed to her 190,000 followers on the platform on Thursday night (February 27) before saying, “Lil Kim’s impact on fashion through music, Hip-Hop, and Pop culture is still chugging.”
And though Banks doesn’t exactly have the best reputation for handing out compliments, she even discharged a few the way of her former nemesis Khia after one commenter suggested Lil Kim was “Khia” compared to Gaga when it comes to fashion.
“You guys speak about Khia as if ‘My Neck My Back’ isn’t one of the most prolific female rap songs of all time,” Azealia started. “…don’t make me hurt your feelings. Gaga is no where near as culturally important than Lil Kim. We’re not even about to play this game right now.”
That’s not all she said.
“Khia is a bonafide part of women’s music history. Check your f*cking selves,” Banks quipped.
At writing, the ‘My Neck, My Back’ hitmaker has not responded to Azealia’s unexpected praise session.
