Though bested in Best Country Solo Performance and Best Country Song categories, Bey snatched the Best Country Duo/Group Performance for the album’s song ‘II Most Wanted‘ featuring Miley Cyrus.
She becomes the first Black woman to win a Country GRAMMY. A
mong all Black acts, however, The Pointer Sisters were the first to win a golden gramophone in the genre when they snagged the same category in 1974 for their song ‘Fairytale.’
Already the most-awarded artist in the ceremony’s history, the win helped extend Beyonce’s career winning streak to 35. For Miley, the triumph comes as the third of her career.
