As one of her generation’s most dynamic performers, Chloe Bailey is no stranger to being praised for her jaw-dropping live vocal displays and high-octane choreography.
Having spent years pointing to Beyonce as the inspiration behind her approach to performing, Chloe got the ultimate co-sign when she was signed to the diva’s imprint Parkwood Entertainment ten years ago.
And while the two have grown closer personally and professionally over the years, Chloe still regards the music megastar as her biggest idol and influence – a reverence the ‘Have Mercy‘ hitmaker doubled down on over the weekend.

While working the red carpet of the 2025 NAACP Image Awards, Bailey chatted it up with ‘Good Morning America‘ to dish on the artists who inspire her the most.
“It was Beyonce,” Chloe replied when quizzed on who she looked up to growing up. “I was 3 or 4-years-old loving her and Destiny’s Child. Then, when I met her on the set of [the movie] ‘Fighting Temptations,’ she was so kind to me and I was absolutely in love. I’ve told her several times before that because of you, I do music.”
Elsewhere in the chat, the 26-year-old reflected on how going to 2004’s ‘Verizon Ladies First Tour’ (which boasted Beyonce, Alicia Keys, and Missy Elliott as its headliners) was a life-changing experience.
“I remember I had these nosebleed seats at this Atlanta show – it was her, Alicia, and Missy. When I think about it, that was the day I looked down and said ‘that’s what I’m going to do one day,’” Bailey relayed. “As an artist, I am those three women merged into one. Alicia with the soulful voice and the piano, Beyonce with the power and the boom, and Missy Elliott with the production, the sound, the beats, and raunchy lyrics.”
