Kacey Musgraves DENIES Dissing Beyonce’s ‘Cowboy Carter’ GRAMMY Wins, But Big & Rich SLAMS the Victory Over “Real Country Artists” As a “Total Joke”

In what comes as little surprise, the overwhelming support for Beyonce‘s historic wins at the 2025 GRAMMYs wasn’t without its share of headline-grabbing detractors.

As reported, the Queen Bey was royally stunned when she not only captured Country Album of the Year but also her first Album of the Year victory – the latter of which has eluded her for nearly two decades.

While celebrities and the diva’s fans alike (affectionately called the #Beyhive) buzzed with excitement over the long overdue triumph, some were making headlines for being less-than-enthused over the wins.

Among them was 8-time GRAMMY winner Kacey Musgraves who was among Bey’s competition in the Country Album of the Year category.

Viewers accused the songstress of looking “pissed” as she watched the ‘Cowboy Carter‘ hitmaker accept the award over her – a branding the 36-year-old quickly took to social media to shut down.

“It’s a sensationalistic false narrative meant to pit two talented female artists against each other,” a rep for Kacey told the press in a statement on her behalf on Monday (February 3). “There was simply no scowl or expression made.”

Musgraves wasn’t the only one, however.

John Rich, one-half of the superstar Country duo Big & Rich, didn’t bite his tongue when he took to X (formerly known as Twitter) on Sunday night to blast the Recording Academy for awarding Best Country Album to Bey over fellow nominee Lainey Wilson.

“Beyonce wins Best Country Album at the GRAMMYs; way to go,” he tweeted sarcastically before emphasizing Wilson was “greater than” the ‘Cowboy Carter’ creator and even calling the award show a “clown show.”

While he was being taken to task by #Beyhive members on Twitter, he also received massive support for the anti-Beyonce rhetoric including a co-sign from a Country record label Baste Records.

“Even Beyoncé herself said it wasn’t a country album! But of course, the Grammys had to push their agenda instead of actually honoring real country artists. Total joke,” they tweeted from the imprint’s official account.

Once his handle on the platform was flooded by disses for coming for the Queen Bey, Rich clapped back with his own conspiracy theories about how the GRAMMYs bow to political agendas over awarding actual talent.

At writing, the Recording Academy nor Beyonce has responded to John’s incendiary commentary.

I kind of agree – if the artist themself says it’s not a country album, why are they being given a country album award for it? Make it make sense?

      💯!

Remember when Adele wanted to hand over her award to Beyonce?

If Beyonce said it wasn’t a country album she should have let real country artists win this. But Beyonce doesn’t care about anyone except her self. That’s why I don’t like her, fake and phoney.

beyonce is complete and utter trash. gone are the days where ppl need to pretend to like or or lie about how great she is when our ears tell us otherwise. she sux and forcing her down our throat just make us hate her more and more. and her camel husband with a daughter that looks exactly like HIM 😄

Whit artists periodically make rap and r&b albums and sweep the awards shows. It’s about time the favor was returned.

If they do rap music and the albums are great then they deserve to win in the rap category. Beyoncé’s album is not a country album, she’s not a country artist

I guess anybody can release an album with a mix of genre, like 2 pop songs, 2 RnB, 2 electro, 2 dance, 2 country, 2 rock and win a a grammy for an RnB or a Country album? It’s not logical to me.

I’m so sick and tired of all this hate toward Beyoncé in any and every thing that she does. What defines a country artist or any genre for that matter. The hate is real when it comes to Beyoncé and people should now be tired. This women has open up the doors and has define her status in music period. What other artist out here can do any and every kind of music and do it well. When she is being snubbed where is all this unwanted energy then . People s*** the hack up and move on with a better insight on music and it’s history. Beyoncé is and has been trying to get you haters up on life and it’s comings
