Kendrick Lamar‘s ‘Luther‘ held on to the Hot 100’s crown position for another frame this week, quietly marking a milestone for the hit rapper.
The SZA-assisted cut, found aboard Lamar’s chart-topping album ‘GNX,’ continued its Hot 100 reign this week thanks to an impressive combo of sales, streams, and radio airplay.
Here are the numbers that powered the #1 placement.
- Streaming = 34.2 million U.S.-based streams
- Sales = 3,000 digital downloads
- Radio airplay = 53.9 million audience impressions
The Luther Vandross-sampling cut not only marks the sixth #1 hit of Lamar’s career but now also ties as his longest-reigning.
Matching the chart-topping run of the Drake diss track ‘Not Like Us,’ ‘Luther’ has now racked up three non-consecutive weeks atop the Hot 100.
For SZA, the song’s three-week reign marks the longest time she’s ever spent at the all-genre chart’s summit having previously enjoyed a one-week rule with her inaugural #1 hit ‘Kill Bill‘ and the Drake-led ‘Slime You Out‘ respectively.
