Jay-Z Paternity Lawsuit Dropped After Decades-Long Battle

Published: Thursday 24th Jul 2025 by Nadia Mumuni

The long-running paternity saga involving Jay-Z has finally come to an end – at least for now.

Full story below…

Rymir Satterthwaite, who previously claimed to be the rap mogul’s son, has officially withdrawn his lawsuit against the rap mogul. Court documents show the 31-year-old filed a motion on July 18 to dismiss the case in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, with the notice stating the defendants had not yet responded.

For over a decade, Satterthwaite and his late mother, Wanda Satterthwaite, alleged that Jay-Z fathered him following an alleged relationship with Wanda when she was 16. Multiple suits over the years sought a paternity test, all dismissed due to a lack of evidence and jurisdiction. Jay-Z has continuously denied the claims.

The latest filing, submitted in May, accused the Roc Nation boss of abuse of process, stating:

“The pervasive and omnipresent influence of [Jay-Z] has devastated Plaintiff’s emotional state.”

Now with Satterthwaite pulling the plug, the decades-long controversy appears to be on ice, for good.

    Disgusting piece of 💩
    Always with the HUSH money!

Nobody wrote a check! There’s just no way a judge is going to force Jay to take a paternity test. The man is an adult now, there’s no legal reason for an involuntary paternity test

      HEhas 3 options now:

      1. Request DNA from one of Jay-Z’s relatives (with their consent) and compare it to Rymir’s sample.

      2. Try a public DNA analysis through companies like 23andMe or AncestryDNA, if a relative of Jay-Z has previously taken a test and is in the database, it might be possible to detect a match (though this is rare).

      3. If Jay-Z were to pass away and this person wished to claim a share of the estate, he could file a posthumous paternity claim and would then be required to prove the biological relationship.

This might involve a DNA test using a preserved biopsy sample from Jay-Z, or comparing his DNA to that of close relatives.

Basically, it would take a family member of Jay-Z who doesn’t like him to voluntarily agree to a DNA test.

There’s probably at least one like that.

        It’s not over vajayjay .
