It’s been nearly a week since Destiny’s Child‘s surprise reunion at the finale of Beyonce‘s history-making ‘Cowboy Carter Tour,’ but diehard fans of the ladies are still flooding social media about the topic.
Among the most talked about commentary on the jaw-dropping moment came from group member Michelle Williams herself, however.

Taking to the latest episode of her ‘Checking In’ podcast, Williams waxed honest about the anxieties she faced in preparation for the reunion with her Destiny’s Child bandmates to perform ‘Lose My Breath,’ ‘Bootylicious,’ and more at the last stop of Bey’s ‘Cowboy Carter Tour.’
“I was trying to stay focused because y’all know I still have trauma from falling on ‘106 & Park’ [in 2004],” Michelle revealed. “Every time I perform with the girls it’s in my head, ‘do not fall.'”
To prevent a repeat of the nearly 21-year-old incident at the Vegas showing, the 46-year-old revealed she even considered altering her wardrobe.
“[The ‘106’ fall] is still in my head. Steps do frighten me. Did I rehearse those steps? Sure did,” she relayed.
When showtime came on Saturday night (July 26), however, Michelle was singing a different tune: one of readiness and triumph.
“Oh my gosh, you dummy. You let fear or lack of trust [overcome you],” Williams revealed she said to herself. “Because if it were to happen that I fell, I would not be able to live that down for the next 20 years.”

Michelle is always the seeking attention rat in the group.. she never knew her place…
Petty…u need Jesus gurl.
Grow up!!
Trump definitely love this kind meh of ghetto thrash apart from his own daughter!
Michelle our Belle cares way too much about what folks think about her and her fall. Her naysayers knows the effect of their negative power over her way too well, and that’s why they continue to bully her. You may fall and get up again. Get over it Belle💝.
All they did was walk down some steps… 😒 my least favorite group of that time.
I don’t know about EPIC. Nothing we haven’t seen before.
It was epic to those who stan DC. I have a coworker who was droning on about how “epic” it was that they walked in sync! 😂 It was cute and welcomed but defiynot epic…
I have never liked the way Michelle’s inner voice speaks to her. Dummy? Girl, get a new script.
They are Spice Girls lessor.
You fell and recovered 100%. Think of people who sustained lifelong injuries from an accident. Talkin’ about being traumatized.
Girl bye.
