Snoop Dogg is feeling the bark and bite of social media after sharing a less-than-endorsing take on LGBTQ rights.

Appearing on the It’s Giving podcast, the 53-year-old MC reflected on taking his grandson to the movies to see the film ‘Lightyear’ in 2022.
Unbeknownst to him, one of the central characters had two mothers.
Remarking on the film, which stars Keke Palmer, the Hip-Hop star said:
“What you see is what you see, and they’re putting it everywhere.”
Continuing, he added:
“They’re like, ‘She had a baby — with another woman.’ Well, my grandson, in the middle of the movie is like, ‘Papa Snoop? How she have a baby with a woman? She’s a woman!'”
Oh sh–, I didn’t come in for this sh–. I just came to watch the goddamn movie.'”
Speaking on what his grandson, pressing on the matter, added, Snoop said:
“‘They just said, she and she had a baby — they’re both women. How does she have a baby?’
It f—– me up. I’m like, scared to go to the movies. Y’all throwing me in the middle of sh– that I don’t have an answer for.
It threw me for a loop. I’m like, ‘What part of the movie was this?
These are kids. We have to show that at this age? They’re going to ask questions. I don’t have the answer.”

The comments saw many criticize the ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot’ performer, with some deeming the remarks “homophobic.”

Hiding and ignoring gay people doesn’t make them or their right to exist go away. When I was a kid my best friend had “two moms” and absolutely NOBODY offered any explanation. We were kids and reproduction was the furthest thing from our minds. If I would’ve had questions I know my mother would’ve given me an age appropriate answer. Just like she would’ve done with my other friend whose 7 siblings have 6 different fathers, none of which lived with them.

The answer for Mr. Snoop D-O-double G is to EDUCATE himself. That is what intelligent people do when posed with a question they don’t have the answer for. In addition, he could have also simply said “there are different kinds of families in the world, the important thing is that they love each other.” But that requires something he doesn’t apparently possess…
I think snoop was just (hilariously) reflecting on one of his lived experiences as a straight man being subjected to a reality alternative to his. He doesn’t need to “educate” himself in the nuances of the gay lifestyle to articulate his truth or his story. As a gay man, I didn’t find what he said to be homophobic.

Yes I don’t identify with (first letter Q last letter R) since it didn’t come through the first time. I’m a black gay male.
