Colman Domingo isn’t here for the hate. The Emmy-winning star clapped back at homophobic criticism after appearing in Sabrina Carpenter’s ‘Tears’ music video.

The ‘Rocky Horror’ inspired visual sees Carpenter crash land in the woods before being joined by Domingo in full Dr. Frank-N-Furter style drag. The pair tear through glittery dance breaks and theatrical chaos alongside LGBTQ+ performers.
When one critic on X mocked his look by saying:
“Guess he was too manly even for a gay man. Had to put him in drag in Sabrina Carpenter’s video huh? Bulls**t!”
Domingo fired back with grace and wit, he wrote:
“It’s a character. Like all the characters I play. Calm down brother. Enjoy the video and the fun that it possesses. Dance it out! It ain’t that deep.”
Urging viewers to simply enjoy the campy fun, he even dropped a line from RuPaul’s ‘Born Naked’ and said:
“We are born naked and everything else is drag. Suits, t shirts, dresses. All drag. 😂👍🏾🙏🏽”
Fans rallied behind the ‘Sing Sing’ actor, praising his confidence and shutting down the hate. For Domingo, it’s all performance, and he’s having a ball.
