Cop a gander at Ice Spice shining on the cover of ‘NYLON.’

The ‘Munch‘ maker was definitely eating up the pages of the magazine’s September issue by striking some serious poses in designer duds from Stella McCartney, Kate Spade, DSQUARED2, Manolo Blahnik, and Jimmy Choo.

When not stunning readers with photos snapped by famed photographer Lea Winkler, the 25-year-old – who recently dropped jaws after dropping the new song ‘GYATT‘ with former nemesis Latto – was dishing on everything from new music to dreams of retiring at 35 and much more.

Hop inside for highlights.

ICE SPICE ON FEMALE RAP BEEFS:

“I think the girls [in rap] also enjoy the friendly competition amongst each other. I feel like that’s what keeps the spark.”

ICE SPICE ON RETIRING BY 35:

“I mean, my dream is to be retired by 35, but is that even realistic?” she shared. “Probably not. I’m American. We work until we die.”

ICE SPICE ON NOT BEING RESPECTED AS A TRUE LYRICIST:

“Like people were trying to say that I’m not a lyricist, and I just kind of went in with the attitude of ‘Yeah, they’re right. I’m not.’ But it’s just not true,” she relayed before continuing, “I didn’t really feel like having to prove that. But I figured I’d let you know that I definitely knew I was [a lyricist]. The whole time. I just let them say what they want and be happy with that.”

If Ice Spice is smart and her team has her best interests — her sophomore era could prove more successful.

I think her rapping style is authentically her. Even though it’s basic. Her pre-debut work was less polished, but more relatable. Ice Spice has a certain quality / sound — you hear it, you know it’s her. People found her relatable…..

And there’s nothing wrong with creating more polshed visuals / aesthetics / brand identity, obvs with bigger budget. It’s like she stopped being humble during her quick rise to ‘princess’ status.

The decline in her popularity was as fast as her rise… like that bad PR Central Cee stunt, where it seemed like she was mostly blamed … the hate she received during that whole Ice, Central, Madeline Argy was not a good a look.

+ the shady unprofessional behaviour (Cleotrapa) and the leaked messages about stuff allegedly said about Nicki. I say allegedly, but whatever bond she had with Nicki is clearly not there.

It’s like she burned through her bridges way too early. At least the Latto collab shows she’s willing to move past previous drama.

+ Her debut LP was mediocre — just felt like leftovers from her EP. Her feature Fisherrr remix was hopeful.

    Time will tell
