Drake isn’t backing down. The chart-topping rapper has officially filed a notice of appeal after a federal judge tossed his explosive defamation lawsuit against Universal Music Group.

The ruling, handed down earlier this month, determined that Kendrick Lamar’s colossal diss record ‘Not Like Us’ was protected opinion amid the pair’s feud. The scathing track shattered streaming records, scooped Record of the Year at this year’s GRAMMYs, and stole the spotlight during the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show.
But Drizzy insists UMG went too far, accusing the label of deceptive tactics to boost the single’s reach. Though those claims were dismissed, his legal team is pressing forward seeking a Second Circuit review.
With filings now in motion, the case could stretch well into 2026.

Dear Drizzo,
You were just crowned the best selling artist in history (multilingual singer, Nana Mouskouri, says Hi). Accept your blessing and rejoice instead of swinging that paranoid stinger. Let your success be your avenger. And fewer visits to Bella Hadid’s surgeon or you’ll end up looking like the other Aubrey.
Signed,
Not a fan (Except for Hotline Bling)
