From Barbra Streisand and Whitney Houston to Luther Vandross, Ariana Grande, Boyz II Men, Nas, Missy Elliott, Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, and many others, the list of collaborations Mariah has racked up over her 35-year career is nothing short of legendary.
But – as evidenced by interviews the icon’s had in promotion of ‘Here’ – there’s always room to add new names.
Most recently spotted chatting it up with the crew at Power 106 Los Angeles, Carey – between dishing about her iconic career and favorite LA spots – detailed the inspiration behind ‘Here,’ regaled the hosts with stories about her crush on Tupac Shakur, and more.
When quizzed about her love for West Coast rappers overall (having previously collaborated with YG, Snoop Dogg, and others from the region), the resident DJ suggested she add Rap superstar Kendrick Lamar to her list.
“He’s definitely on my radar, I think everybody pretty much love [K.Dot],” Mimi shared (as seen in the video above) before later relaying, “I would live to see it [a collaboration with him]. Can we call him?”
Lamar isn’t the only TDE artist Mariah’s got her eye on, however.

As previously reported, she and SZA recently made headlines over for exchanging pleasantries online and in-person via a live interview at Apple Music.
Not long before her visit Power 106 (seen above), Carey dropped by Hot 97 to reflect on her heartwarming talk with the ‘Snooze‘ singer.
“I’m hoping that happens,” Mariah said about working with SZA (born Solana Rowe). “I think we gotta stay on a bunch of people to make this [a duet] happen. But, I love her work. I really do; I really think she’s super talented. I would be honored to work with her and do a new record.”
That’s not all she said. Click PLAY on the video above to hear her full statement about Solana.
