Could the shady apologies exchanged between Nicki Minaj and Cardi B on Thursday night (October 2) signal the end of their vicious, weeklong spat on X (formerly known as Twitter)?
Embroiled in a bitter social media squabble since Monday (September 29), the back-and-forth between Cardi and Nicki has been epic and even scary at times.
With their respective fan bases (the #BardiGang and #Barbz) equally invested in defense of their faves, they – along with the rest of the world – have sat back and watched the Rap divas diss everything from each other’s appearances and music to families, alleged drug abuse, legal woes, and more.
The battle took a dark turn when the femcees took aim at each other’s children as Nicki referred to Cardi’s oldest as an “ugly monkey and roach,” leading the latter to hit back with claims the former’s son is “slow” and “nonverbal.”
Seemingly remorseful of her nearly weeklong tirade, Minaj took to X (formerly known as Twitter) late Thursday night (October 2) to offer an apology of sorts.
“You’re a cute child and lots of kids have cute little funny looking gums before they grow into all their features,” said Nicki after previously threatening to kick the 7-year-old’s gums “into formation.” “One day you’ll see this, so I have to say: I apologize…you’re an innocent child and don’t deserve any of this.”
Cardi received the tweet as veiled shade and responded in-kind.
“Don’t give my child no backhanded apology; keep my child name out your mouth because I’mma always take you where you don’t wanna go about mine,” the ‘Bodak Yellow‘ beauty replied after previously saying she was done going back-and-forth on social media.
She even offered her own brandy of a shady apology.
“I’m sorry that your mommy haven’t cut you a birthday cake for the past 3 days because she can’t take my success or happiness,” Cardi relayed to Nicki’s 5-year-old son affectionately known as Papa Bear. “One day you’re going to grow up, and I hope you understand when a girl says “no” it means no and you can overcome the pedophilia blood you inherited from your grandfather, father, and uncle.”
