‘Sweet Love‘ songstress Anita Baker may have left legions of fans feeling sour after her 2023 ‘Songstress Tour‘ was muddied with bad press for her very public fallout with co-headliner Babyface as well as reports of extreme tardiness, cancelations, and even rumors of substance abuse.
Ready to leave all the drama in her rear view, the 8x GRAMMY winner could not only be gearing up to enter 2026 with long-awaited new music but also a new global jaunt to support it.
Look inside for details.
Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter) recently, Baker retweeted a fan’s post praising her 2023 ‘Songstress Tour.’
What’s more, the 67-year-old added a cryptic message lined with emojis including a microphone and a globe – suggesting to her 752,000 followers on the platform that she could be gearing up to hit the road next year.
At writing, however, Anita has not outrightly confirmed any plans for an international tour.
On the other hand, she has repeatedly teased new music over the last few years since announcing she defeated her former record label in the battle for ownership of her master recordings in 2021.
No tentative release date has been announced yet for the new LP which will serve as her first since 2004’s ‘My Everything.’

She has too many antics for me. The way she played Babyface i would never!
Scrooge McDuck needs to hang it up. She’s crotchety, mean-spirited and miserable. I would not pay my hard-earned money to soak in her negative energy. She needs a personality transplant. No thanks.
She won’t miss you or your lil coins!!!
She’s never gotten any of my “lil coins” so she can’t miss what she never had. I agree with you.
Who’s dis Indian granny? Better cooking some chicken curry.
Not after she canceled her tour dates at the last minute with no explanation. She will never get another coin of mine and why is she touring with a bad knee anyway. Bye Meanita!
I will continue to enjoy her music on the iPod but no thx to everything else 🤷🏼
ipod? lol how Dinosaur are you hunnie?
I thought this old b**** died already! Stay dead!
Just spent 3 hours working in my yard listening to Anita Baker’s entire music collection, including her duet with Frank Sinatra. Anita & Carol King, being able to write fabulous songs, produce the arrangements, play the piano at levels few humans can and have wonderful singing voices to pull it all together, are truly two of the greatest women in music. I’ve never seen Anita in person perform, so I’ll go anywhere at the drop of a hat to hear her and watch superb musicianship.
