Hip-Hop has been fighting for its spot on the Hot 100 charts, recently hitting a startling low until Megan Thee Stallion dropped her new hit ‘Lover Girl.’

Full story below…

Last week, not a single Rap track cracked the Hot 100‘s top 40. The shocking absence came as a first for the all-genre chart since February 1990. The highest entries came from NBA YoungBoy at #44, Cardi B at #48, and BigXthaPlug at #49, sparking conversations about the genre’s recent stagnation.

Enter the Hot Girl Coach.

The Houston native’s latest single, ‘Lover Girl,’ has launched a #38, officially pulling Rap back into the top 40 territory.

On the romantic track, Meg floats over the beat while celebrating her relationship with NBA star Klay Thompson, flexing bars about mutual respect and love on her level.

With the Hot Girl back in the mix, Hip-Hop just may have found its spark again.
