Barely a week after Kevin McCall made headlines for saying he would sing Mario “under a table,” the ‘Just a Friend‘ hitmaker engaged in his only friendly chat about who has vocal pipes or not while visiting the ‘Funky Friday‘ podcast hosted by Cam Newton.

Challenged to provide a strict “yes or no” answer, Newton pressed the GRAMMY nominee (born Mario Barrett) on who among his male R&B contemporaries can sing.
While he was quick to crown Chris Brown a vocalist, Barrett bestowed the title to the likes of Jacquees, Trey Songz, Ray J, Bobby Valentino, and The Weeknd with some reservation.
When it came to his former nemesis Omarion, however, Mario was a bit hesitant.
“Omarion be hit or miss for me sometimes,” he shared.
When quizzed on Bryson Tiller, Barrett did not want to outrightly say he was not a vocalist – even claiming he’s never heard the 3x GRAMMY nominee sing live without effects.
“If Bryson wanted to sing more, he could,” Mario started before laughing. “This is not a fair question bro.”
Eventually, Mario did say Bryson could not sing “to his standards” but later reversed his answer.

his talent! knock him for being a flop if you will lol but Mario is a vocal authority because he’s always on point with his vocals
Abel’s voice is… thin live but wouldn’t say he can’t sing live. now, as for everyone else… it surprises me how long it took for people to realize how limited Trey Songz is as a vocalist and artist and it’s so crazy how Ray J’s tone is so similar to his big sis yet he sounds like gargling acid and rocks and Brandy is a vocal legend
Jacques is a no and so is The Weeknd. Miguel is a great vocalist.
